If your ideal bathroom style is classic and elegant in appearance, consider these ideas for a bathroom remodel that reflects a charming vintage look.

Sinks and bathtubs

Traditional bathroom sinks and bathtubs take a few different forms. For a truly timeless look for your bathroom, consider a bowl or pedestal sink. Small touches like china cross handles on your sinks and bathtubs, as well as polished chrome faucets, add a special vintage flair to your bathroom.

Classic raised bathtubs with feet can be updated to cater to a modern lifestyle. These tubs look best when they are immaculately white to complement the simplicity and elegance of the rest of the bathroom.

Traditional decorating

Consider, too, what you want your accessories to look like for your bathroom-remodeling project. Many people believe that white on white is too much. Traditional bathrooms are generally white or tan in paint color. But remember, with traditional bathroom remodeling, it’s important to stick to a classic aesthetic that is simple and neutral – think crisp white towels and simple embellishments. Sheer white curtains on the windows are also a lovely touch.

Wallpaper can also be a classic look if done tastefully. If you opt for wallpapering, stick to something classic, light colored, and simply patterned. Alternately, consider wall tile, which can be either white or quietly patterned for a simple, classic aesthetic.

For the floor, make sure that your tile is both aesthetically pleasing and functional. Glazed tile is classic but often slippery. Something a little rougher in grain is a much better option.

Of course, you may not want your bathroom to be white. If this is the case, you can use other colors for your traditional bathroom remodeling. Our advice is to stick with neutrals, but you can choose the shade you want. For some glamorous elegance, consider the combination of bronze, deep chocolate brown, and white marble.

Hanging a simple antique-inspired chandelier from the ceiling may provide the final touch for the completion of your bathroom-remodeling project.
